Kids Heart Challenge is Coming to Roundy Physical Education! ❤️
Dear Roundy Elementary Families,
We are excited to kick off this year’s Kids Heart Challenge and work together to build a community of lifesavers! We invite your family to sign up tonight and receive a wristband to get started.
Our BIG goal this year is for 100% of our families to learn Hands-Only CPR, a lifesaving skill that only takes a few minutes to learn but can make all the difference in an emergency.

⛽🐾 Fuel Up & Give Back, Wildcats! 🐾⛽
We’re excited to share a NEW opportunity to support Columbus Community School District, just by filling up your gas tank!
From March 1st through June 30th, when you fuel up at the Columbus Junction FAST STOP (AGRILAND FS), 🚗 3¢ per gallon will be donated directly back to our school district!
It’s an easy way for our families, staff, alumni, and community members to give back, at no extra cost to you. Every gallon counts!

Families interested in open enrolling their student to Columbus Community School District for the upcoming school year can now complete the process.

We are excited to invite you to our upcoming Snow-themed concert featuring our talented 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade students onThursday, February 26th, 2026 at 6:00 PM!
🕔 Students should arrive by 5:45 PM and sit with their classroom teachers.
🎨 Be sure to check out the Art Showcase available to view before and after the concert.
🍪 After the performance, enjoy cookies provided by our wonderful PTO!
👕 Students are asked to wear snow colors and dress nicely. Whites, blues, and grays are perfect!

Last night, our Wildcat bus drivers participated in additional training focused on student safety. We welcomed Trooper Marlow of the Iowa State Patrol for School Transportation Active Threat Training, which reviewed awareness and response considerations specific to school transportation. 🛡️
The Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency (MBAEA) also provided the Annual Bus Driver Training from the Iowa Department of Education. Topics included intervention strategies, passenger van safety, emergency procedures, and bus lot safety. 📘🚨
Ongoing training helps ensure our drivers are prepared, consistent, and focused on providing a safe transportation experience for students and peace of mind for families.

Today, our Columbus Community Schools transportation team completed their 2nd semester bus inspections and the results were perfect: 18 vehicles inspected with ZERO citations.
This marks our first-ever perfect inspection, a milestone that reflects the daily care, professionalism, and dedication our transportation staff bring to keeping students safe on every route, every single day.
We’re grateful for Inspector Joe with the Iowa Department of Education for conducting the inspections and recognizing the high standard of safety our team maintains.
A special thank you to Jeff, Neil, Tom, and Ben for assisting with inspections and supporting the team’s success. Your commitment keeps the Wildcats rolling strong!
